Hi lovelies, I'm Erin, aka: the Blonde Amazon. I am thrilled to be FINALLY starting a blog!
I really appreciate you taking the time to join me on this journey. We'll explore fashion, entrepreneurship, inspiration, sweet steals, community spotlights, and some guest interviews from some amazing entrepreneurs I am lucky enough to call friends.
First, you may be asking yourself, why Blonde Amazon? Well, those of you who haven't met me in real life, I'm a blonde who stands at 5'10", built like my strong Irish-German ancestors, and ready to conquer the world! Amazon has been definied as "a big, strong, warrior-like woman, someone who reminds you of the mythical Greek women-warriors, the Amazons. Describing someone as an amazon can sometimes have a negative tinge. If you call a tennis star an amazon, you may be suggesting that she's got an unfair advantage over her competitors because of her size, and for some (those idiots), strength in a woman is not attractive. But amazon can also be an admiring term for a statuesque, athletic woman. After all, Wonder Woman was an amazon!
Over the years I've struggled with my confidence-
my looks, my intelligence, and even in my career. Growing up I was the only girl on the baseball team- teased and taunted. I remember telling myself to just work harder, and prove to myself that I could be as good, if not better than any of the boys teasing me. It just so happens I struck a lot of those guys out, and guess what? They STILL teased me! This showed me early on that it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, it's how I feel about myself that really matters. With a lot of hard work, and crazy amounts of passion I have overcome many situations- and will share some of those experiences with you in hopes that you will all find your inner-Amazon!
The past year has brought a lot of up's and down's, but it has put me on a path of intentional actions, thoughts, and goals. One of those is to start blogging, and to get my business up and running. I would love for you to comment, ask questions, or share your thoughts here. I've learned that by surrounding myself with supportive, goal-oriented people my confidence and success has grown exponentially, so please feel free to chime in anytime.
Thank you again for joining me, and remember- always be an Amazon!
